When the Red Dawn came to Calumet, Colorado in the 1984 film, they were really invading Las Vegas, New Mexico, where this mural remains. In fact, several films have been shot in and around Las Vegas before and since, including Easy Rider and No Country For Old Men, though few have left quite such an obvious mark.
