For the Birds

A photogenic bird on the shores of Lake Tahoe.

One of the most beautiful inland beaches that I’ve had the pleasure of lounging on, the Beach at South Lake Tahoe was uncrowded, clean, warm, quiet, and tranquil. Alternating between quick dips in the cold water and long soaks in the sun, the only thing to disturb our relaxation was the continual parade of birds of various species that have apparently come to expect a little nibble from the humans who invade their space. In return, they happily posed for photographs, of which I took many.
